Discover more about Vail Interfaith Chapel

The Vail Interfaith Chapel stands as a testament to community and inclusivity in the bustling resort town of Vail. Opened in 1969, the chapel was born from the vision of local religious leaders who sought to create a shared space for worship and spiritual growth. Today, it remains one of the few community chapels in the country where multiple faiths coexist, sharing the same facility while maintaining their individual traditions. Located in the heart of Vail Village, the chapel's architecture reflects the alpine ambiance of the surrounding Rocky Mountains. The interior is intentionally simple, drawing attention to the natural beauty visible through the altar window, with views of the mountains, trees, and Gore Creek. This design choice reflects the chapel's commitment to inclusivity, with a removable wooden cross and no steeple cross to accommodate Jewish services. More than just a place of worship, the Vail Interfaith Chapel serves as a vital community center. It hosts arts and education programs, support group meetings, and even serves as an emergency shelter for the Vail Police Department. Thousands of couples have exchanged vows within its walls, and the chapel's serene atmosphere makes it a popular venue for weddings and other life events. The Vail Religious Foundation supports and enriches the spiritual life of the community as a center for faith and worship, education, emergency services, support groups and the arts.
