Getting There

  • Public Bus

    From Vail Village, walk to the Vail Transportation Center located at 1300 N Frontage Rd. Catch the ECO Transit bus heading towards Avon. The bus ride takes about 20 minutes. Get off at the Avon Station stop, which is the main stop in Avon. From there, it's a 10-minute walk to Walking Mountains. Head south on Avon Rd, then turn left onto W Beaver Creek Blvd. Continue on W Beaver Creek Blvd until you reach Walking Mountains Lane, then turn right. The destination will be on your left.

  • Bike Rental

    If you prefer biking, rent a bike from one of the rental shops in Vail Village. From the rental shop, head towards the bike path that runs along the Gore Creek. Follow the bike path west towards Avon, which connects to the Eagle Valley Trail. The ride will take you approximately 25-30 minutes. As you approach Avon, look for signs directing you to Walking Mountains. The entrance will be on your right at 318 Walking Mountains Ln.

  • Walking

    If you enjoy walking and want to take in the natural scenery, you can walk from Vail Village to Walking Mountains. Head towards the Vail bike path and follow it west. The walk is about 6 miles and will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. As you walk, enjoy the views along the path, and once you arrive in Avon, follow the directions as mentioned above to reach Walking Mountains.
