Car
From Washili, head east on the main road towards Moroni. Continue along Route N1 for approximately 30 kilometers. Keep an eye out for signs that indicate the direction towards Ngazidja Island. You will need to take a ferry from Moroni to Ngazidja, which is approximately a 15-minute ride. The ferry terminal is located near the city center, and tickets can be purchased at the terminal. Make sure to check the ferry schedule ahead of time to avoid long waits. Once you arrive at Ngazidja, you can explore the island by car, taxi, or on foot.

From Washili, take a ‘taxi-brousse’ (shared taxi) heading towards Moroni. The ride should take around 45 minutes to an hour, depending on traffic and stops. Once in Moroni, head to the ferry terminal, which is within walking distance from the taxi drop-off point. Purchase your ferry ticket to Ngazidja. The ferry ride takes about 15 minutes. Ensure you check the ferry schedule for the return trip to Washili to plan accordingly. After arriving on Ngazidja, you can explore the island by walking or using local taxis.
