Car
If you are traveling by car, start on I-95 N or I-84 E, depending on your location. From I-95 N, merge onto CT-8 N towards Waterbury. Take exit 16 for Derby. At the end of the exit ramp, turn left onto 34 E/Derby Ave. Continue on Derby Ave for about 1.5 miles. Turn right onto Chatfield St, and after about 0.5 miles, you will see Osbornedale State Park on your left at 43 Chatfield St, Derby, CT 06418. There is no entrance fee, and ample parking is available on-site.
Public Transportation
To reach Osbornedale State Park via public transportation, take a Metro-North train to the Derby-Shelton station. From the station, you can either book a rideshare service or take the local bus (Valley Transit District Route 3) towards the Derby Green. Get off at the stop closest to Chatfield St. From there, it is a short walk (approximately 0.8 miles) to the park. Be aware that bus schedules may vary, and you should check the Valley Transit District website for the most current timetable. A one-way bus fare is approximately $1.50.
