From Bear Mountain State Park, start by heading southeast on 9W. Continue for about 10 miles until you reach the intersection with NY-293. Turn left onto NY-293 and follow it until you reach the intersection with CT-8. Merge onto CT-8 North. After about 15 miles, take exit 42 for CT-272 towards Norfolk. Follow CT-272 for about 5 miles until you arrive at Haystack Mountain State Park. Parking is available on-site.

To reach Haystack Mountain State Park using public transportation, start by taking a bus from Bear Mountain State Park to Peekskill. From there, transfer to the Metro-North Railroad and take the train towards Wassaic. Get off at the Wassaic station. You will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service from the Wassaic station to Haystack Mountain State Park, which is about a 15-minute drive away. Be sure to check the train schedules in advance to plan your journey accordingly.
