Car
From Bear Mountain, get onto US-6 E. Follow US-6 E for approximately 10 miles until you reach the junction with I-84 E. Merge onto I-84 E and continue for about 12 miles. Take exit 39 for CT-4 W toward Farmington and continue for about 4 miles. Turn right onto Mountain Rd, and Hill-Stead Museum will be on your right at 35 Mountain Rd, Farmington, CT 06032. Parking is available on-site.
Public Transportation
To reach Hill-Stead Museum using public transportation, start at Bear Mountain and take a taxi or rideshare service to the nearest Metro-North train station, which is in Garrison, NY. Board the train heading towards Grand Central Terminal and get off at the Bridgeport station (approximately 60 minutes). From Bridgeport, transfer to a local bus (CT Transit Route 60) towards Farmington. Get off at the stop closest to Mountain Rd, then walk about 0.5 miles to the museum located at 35 Mountain Rd, Farmington, CT 06032. Be sure to check train and bus schedules ahead of time for any service changes.
