    Car

    From Bear Mountain, head southeast on 9W towards the intersection with Route 44. Turn right onto Route 44 and continue for approximately 10 miles. As you approach Salisbury, look for signs directing you to Undermountain Road. Turn left onto Undermountain Road and follow it for about 2 miles until you reach the Undermountain Trailhead Parking Area. There is no parking fee at this location.

    Public Transportation

    From Bear Mountain, take a Metro-North train from the Peekskill station (the closest station) on the Hudson Line towards Grand Central Terminal. Get off at the Wassaic station. From Wassaic, you can arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to take you to Mount Riga State Park, which is approximately 15 minutes away. Please note that taxi or rideshare costs may vary, typically ranging from $20 to $30.

    Biking

    If you prefer cycling, you can ride from Bear Mountain to Mount Riga State Park. Take Route 9W south towards Route 44. Then, turn right onto Route 44 and follow the same directions as when driving. The total distance is about 12 miles and includes some hilly sections, so prepare accordingly. Ensure you have a helmet and follow all traffic rules.

    Walking from Bear Mountain to Mount Riga is not practical due to the distance of approximately 12 miles.
