Levitt Pavilion: Westport's Outdoorstage

Enjoy free music and performing arts under the stars at Westport's iconic Levitt Pavilion, a cultural destination for all ages.

4.7

The Levitt Pavilion for the Performing Arts is a unique and independent non-profit organization dedicated to providing free access to the performing arts. Located on the banks of the Saugatuck River in downtown Westport, Connecticut, the pavilion has been a community anchor since its establishment in 1973, with its first season in 1974. The pavilion's story began with the transformation of the town dump into a vibrant community gathering space. Thanks to the generosity of Mortimer and Mimi Levitt, who donated $25,000, the town named the outdoor stage in their honor. In 1999, the Levitt's established a foundation to expand the concept of free outdoor concerts to communities across the country. While the Levitt Pavilion in Westport is no longer affiliated with the Levitt Foundation, it continues to uphold its mission of providing free and accessible arts programming. The Levitt Pavilion presents a wide range of music and performing arts, featuring established, award-winning, and emerging artists from around the world. Nightly programming includes jazz, rock, pop, blues, folk, world music, big band, cabaret, dance, theater, comedy, circus, movies and more. The Pavilion also hosts a Children's Series every summer. Each year, the Levitt Pavilion welcomes over 75,000 patrons to its iconic amphitheater. In 2014, the Levitt Pavilion underwent a major redesign, including a new stage and soaring roof, world-class sound and lights, a sloped lawn, and a hospitality building.
