Discover more about Action Wildlife Foundation

Action Wildlife Foundation, nestled in the hills of Goshen, Connecticut, is a non-profit wildlife sanctuary offering a distinctive and interactive experience for families and animal lovers. Founded by Jim Mazzarelli, the 116-acre park is home to over 350 exotic animals from around the world, including species not commonly found elsewhere in New England. Mazzarelli's vision was inspired by his childhood visit to the Catskill Game Farm and his subsequent travels, aiming to recreate the experience of seeing and interacting with large game and exotic animals up close. The park features a two-mile drive-through safari where visitors can observe animals such as water buffalo, emu, llamas, zebras, bison, camels, and various types of deer in large, natural habitats. The petting zoo offers a chance to interact with baby animals like goat kids. The museum and exploration center houses a collection of mounted animals in detailed dioramas, showcasing species from North America and beyond. Action Wildlife is dedicated to animal conservation, habitat preservation, and community education. The park also hosts special events throughout the season, including Jeep Day, YMCA 5K runs, and Safari Sips, which feature local craft beer tastings. A visit to Action Wildlife provides an opportunity to learn about wildlife, enjoy the outdoors, and support conservation efforts.
