Car
If you are driving, begin your journey heading towards Danbury, CT. From I-84, take exit 8 for US-6 towards Danbury. Follow US-6 for approximately 4 miles. Take a left onto Bear Mountain Road. Continue on Bear Mountain Road for about 1 mile until you reach the Bear Mountain Reservation parking area at 17 Bear Mountain Rd, Danbury, CT 06811. Note that there is no parking fee.
Public Transportation (Bus)
For public transportation, you can take the Danbury Transit District bus route. Check the schedule for the best route to take to reach the Danbury area. Once you arrive in Danbury, you will need to take a taxi or rideshare service (like Uber or Lyft) to get to Bear Mountain Reservation, as public transport does not directly serve the park. The taxi ride from downtown Danbury to Bear Mountain Reservation will take about 15-20 minutes.
Walking from Nearby Bus Stop
If you opt to take a bus that stops near the area, you can get off at a nearby bus stop located on US-6. From there, it is roughly a 1.5-mile walk to Bear Mountain Reservation along Bear Mountain Road. Please ensure to wear comfortable walking shoes and be mindful of traffic as you walk.
