The park's landscape resembles what Adriaen Block and his crew saw when they explored the river in 1619. Acquired by the state in 1968, the park provides a natural refuge with opportunities for picnicking, fishing, boating, hiking, and biking. The Windsor River Trail, a 0.75-mile paved path, offers scenic overlooks and is accessible to all, including those using wheelchairs and strollers.
