Getting There

• Car

  From Gillette Castle State Park, head southwest on the main park road toward CT-82. Turn left onto CT-82 E and continue for about 2.5 miles. At the traffic light, turn right onto CT-154 S. Continue for approximately 3 miles until you reach the intersection with River Rd. Turn left onto River Rd, and after about 1 mile, you will arrive at Deep River Landing located on your right. Parking may be available along the road, but be sure to check for any parking regulations.

• Public Transportation

  From Gillette Castle State Park, walk to the nearest bus stop located at the intersection of CT-82 and CT-154. You can take the 9 or 9X bus towards Old Saybrook. Get off at the Deep River Town Hall stop. From there, it’s about a 15-minute walk to Deep River Landing. Head south on Main St, then turn left onto River Rd, continuing straight for about 1 mile until you reach Deep River Landing. Be sure to check the bus schedule in advance for the most accurate times and possible costs.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer to bike, exit Gillette Castle State Park and head southwest on the main park road. Follow the same route as if driving: take CT-82 E, then CT-154 S to River Rd. The ride is approximately 7 miles one way and should take around 30-40 minutes, depending on your speed. Ensure to wear a helmet and follow all traffic rules. There may not be dedicated bike lanes on the road, so ride cautiously.
