Discover more about St. Ann's Warehouse

St. Ann's Warehouse is a dynamic performing arts institution that has played a vital role in shaping the cultural landscape of Brooklyn. Originally founded as Arts at St. Ann's in 1980, it was located in the historic St. Ann and the Holy Trinity Church in Brooklyn Heights. For over two decades, it presented a wide array of concerts and theater performances in the church's Gothic Revival sanctuary. In the wake of 9/11, St. Ann's relocated to a former spice milling factory in DUMBO, where it evolved into St. Ann's Warehouse, known for its groundbreaking performances that blend theater and rock music. In 2015, the organization found a permanent home in the historic Tobacco Warehouse in Brooklyn Bridge Park. This move solidified its position as a premier destination for innovative and eclectic live performances. The current venue, designed by Marvel Architects, retains the original 1860 Tobacco Warehouse's walls while offering a versatile and grand performance space. The complex includes a studio for smaller events and community uses, as well as the Max Family Garden, an open-air space designed by Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates. St. Ann's Warehouse has introduced American audiences to landmark works from a global community of theater-makers, and has hosted legacy concerts by renowned artists. St. Ann's Warehouse is more than just a performance venue; it's a cultural hub that enlivens the DUMBO neighborhood by supporting local businesses, nurturing artistic talent, and engaging residents and visitors alike.
