Walking
If you are starting from downtown Hartford, head south on Main Street. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Capitol Avenue. Turn left onto Capitol Avenue and walk until you reach the intersection with Broad Street. At Broad Street, turn right and continue walking until you reach the intersection with Charter Oak Avenue. Turn left onto Charter Oak Avenue, and the Charter Oak Monument will be on your right, near the Charter Oak Park.
Public Transit - Bus
From downtown Hartford, locate a bus stop for the CTtransit bus service. You can take Bus 53 or Bus 54 from the Main Street stop. Board the bus and ride until you reach the Charter Oak Avenue stop. From the bus stop, walk east on Charter Oak Avenue. The Charter Oak Monument will be located a short distance ahead on your right at Charter Oak Park.
Bicycle
If you prefer to cycle, rent a bike from a local bike-sharing program in Hartford. Start from downtown and head south on Main Street. Once you reach Capitol Avenue, turn left and continue to Broad Street. Turn right on Broad Street, then take a left onto Charter Oak Avenue. Follow this road straight down to Charter Oak Park, where you will find the Charter Oak Monument.
