Bus
From Hartford, you can take the CTtransit bus route 84 towards Springfield. Board the bus at the Hartford Union Station. The journey will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Make sure to get off at the stop closest to 36 Court St in Springfield, which is near the Metro Center area. Once you disembark, walk a short distance to 36 Court St, where you will find Springfield City Hall.
Train
You can take an Amtrak train from Hartford Union Station to Springfield. The train runs regularly and the journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Springfield Station, exit the station and head towards the bus stop. You can catch a local bus, such as the PVTA route 1, that will take you to the downtown area. Get off at the stop for Court St, and walk a few minutes to reach Springfield City Hall at 36 Court St.
Walking
If you find yourself in downtown Hartford, you can enjoy a scenic walk to Springfield City Hall. Head to the Connecticut River and walk along the riverfront park towards the north. Continue walking along the river until you reach the bridge that crosses into Massachusetts. After crossing the bridge, follow the signs towards downtown Springfield. It’s a long walk (approximately 2 miles), but you’ll enjoy beautiful views along the way.
