From the center of Litchfield, head south on Route 202. After approximately 2 miles, turn right onto Topsmead Road. Follow this road for about 1 mile, and you will find the entrance to Topsmead State Forest on your left. There is no entrance fee for the park, but parking is limited, so arrive early during weekends.

If you are using public transportation, take the CT Transit bus (Route 4) from Waterbury to Litchfield.
