To reach Castle Craig by car, start by navigating to Meriden, CT. From the center of Meriden, head north on Broad St (Route 5) until you reach the intersection with East Main St. Turn left onto East Main St, then continue straight as it turns into Westfield Rd. Follow Westfield Rd until you reach the entrance to Hubbard Park on your left. Enter the park and follow the signs to Peak Dr, where Castle Craig is located. There is no fee to enter the park, but be aware that parking may be limited during peak hours.
Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, take a CT Transit bus to Meriden. The bus lines 1, 2, and 3 service the area. Get off at the Meriden Transit Center. From there, you can either walk or use a rideshare service to reach Hubbard Park. It is approximately a 1.5-mile walk. Head northwest on West Main St, then turn right onto Broad St (Route 5). Continue on Broad St until you reach East Main St, then turn left. Follow the same directions as above once you reach the park entrance. Ensure to check the bus schedule for return trips as service may be limited, and consider having a backup plan for transportation back.
Bicycle
For those adventurous enough to cycle, you can bike to Castle Craig from anywhere in Meriden. Use local bike paths and streets to navigate to Hubbard Park. A popular route is to take the Linear Trail, which connects various parts of the city. Once you reach the park, follow the internal roads to Peak Dr. Be sure to wear a helmet and follow local biking regulations. Remember to lock your bike at designated areas in the park.
