To reach Putnam Memorial State Park by car, start by getting onto I-95 N from your current location in Middlesex County. Follow I-95 N and take exit 27 to merge onto CT-15 N toward Merritt Parkway. Continue on CT-15 N for approximately 15 miles. Take exit 46 for CT-33 toward Redding. Merge onto CT-33 N and continue for about 3 miles. Turn left onto Black Rock Turnpike (CT-58) and drive for about 2 miles. The park entrance will be on your left at 499 Black Rock Tpke, Redding, CT 06896. There is no entrance fee for the park.

You will need to transfer at the Bridgeport station to catch the Danbury line. Get off at the Redding station.
