If you are driving, start by navigating to the nearest major roadway, such as Route 44 or Route 6, depending on your current location in The Quiet Corner. From Route 44, take the exit towards Route 12 South. Continue on Route 12 for approximately 5 miles until you reach the intersection with Route 14. Turn left onto Route 14 East and follow it for about 2 miles. Lock 12 will be on your right. Look for the parking lot entrance just before the lock. There is no parking fee.

To reach Lock 12 via public transportation, start by taking a bus from your location in The Quiet Corner to the nearest bus terminal. You can use the Windham Region Transit District (WRTD) services. From the bus terminal, take the bus heading towards Willimantic. Get off at the stop closest to Route 12, which may require a transfer depending on your starting point. Once you exit the bus, you will need to walk approximately 1 mile down Route 12 until you reach Lock 12. Be sure to check the WRTD schedule for bus timings, as services may be limited, especially on weekends.

For those opting to bike, make sure to follow local bike paths or roads that are bike-friendly. From any location within The Quiet Corner, head towards Route 12. Depending on your starting point, the ride may take approximately 30 minutes to an hour. Ensure you wear a helmet and follow traffic laws. Lock 12 has a designated area for bicycles, and there are no fees for entry.
