If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Putnam, CT. Head south on Kennedy Drive toward Main Street, then turn right onto Main Street (CT-44). Continue on CT-44 for about 5 miles until you reach the intersection with CT-169. Turn left onto CT-169. After about 3 miles, turn right onto Natchaug Road. Follow Natchaug Road for approximately 2 miles until you see the entrance to Natchaug State Forest on your left.

If you are using public transportation, take the bus from Willimantic to Putnam. Once you arrive in Putnam, you will need to rely on a taxi or rideshare service to reach Natchaug State Forest as public transportation does not directly serve the forest area. Expect taxi fares to be around $15-20 from Putnam to the forest entrance.

For those who prefer cycling, start from the town of Mansfield. Take the bike path toward Willimantic, then connect to the CT-32 bike route heading north. Follow CT-32 until you reach CT-44, then turn left and follow CT-44 before merging onto CT-169. Continue as instructed in the car directions from there.
