Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start by navigating to the nearest major highway in The Quiet Corner, such as Route 44. Once on Route 44, head west until you reach the intersection with Route 10. Turn south onto Route 10 and continue until you reach W Avon Rd. Turn left onto W Avon Rd. Horse Guard State Park Scenic Reserve will be on your right at 245 W Avon Rd, Avon, CT 06001. There is ample parking available on-site. Please note that entrance to the park is free.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, take a local bus service that operates within The Quiet Corner. You may need to take a bus to a nearby town that has a connecting service to Avon. Once you reach Avon, disembark at the Avon Center stop. From there, it is approximately a 1.5-mile walk to Horse Guard State Park. Head west on W Avon Rd, following the sidewalk until you arrive at the park entrance at 245 W Avon Rd. Ensure to check the local bus schedules in advance as they may vary.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer cycling, you can take advantage of the scenic routes in The Quiet Corner. Use local roads and bike paths that lead toward Avon. Make your way to W Avon Rd via local streets, and once on W Avon Rd, continue until you reach Horse Guard State Park at 245 W Avon Rd. Be aware of traffic and ensure you have appropriate safety gear. There are bike racks available at the park entrance.
