Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving to Osbornedale State Park from anywhere in The Quiet Corner, start by getting onto Route 44 or Route 6, heading west towards Hartford. Then, merge onto I-84 West. Take exit 19 for I-691 toward Meriden and continue for about 7 miles. Merge onto I-91 South toward New Haven, then take exit 17 for Route 34 toward Derby. Follow Route 34 for approximately 8 miles. Once you reach Derby, turn onto Chatfield Street, and the park entrance will be on your right. The total driving time is about 40-50 minutes, depending on your starting point. Please note that parking at the park is free.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Osbornedale State Park via public transportation, take a CT Transit bus to Derby. You can catch a bus from various locations in The Quiet Corner to Derby, but you may have to transfer. Once you arrive at the Derby station, you will need to walk approximately 1.5 miles to the park. Alternatively, consider using a rideshare service like Uber or Lyft from the bus station to the park, which should cost around $5-$10.

  For adventurous travelers, biking to Osbornedale State Park is a great option. If you're in Derby, you can bike directly to the park via Chatfield Street, which is about a 10-minute ride from downtown. If you’re coming from a nearby town, use local roads that connect to Route 34 towards Derby. Always wear a helmet and follow local traffic laws.
