Getting There

  • Public Transportation - Bus

    Start by locating your nearest bus stop in Waterbury. You can use the CT Transit bus service. Take the CT Transit Bus Route 10 towards Naugatuck. The bus will take you through Waterbury and into Naugatuck. Make sure to inform the driver that you want to get off at the stop closest to Whittemore Glen State Park. Once you disembark, follow the signs toward the park entrance, which is located off of Route 63.

  • Walking

    If you're near downtown Waterbury, you can walk to the city’s main bus terminal, which is located at 188 East Main Street. From there, board the CT Transit Bus Route 10 heading towards Naugatuck. After getting off, head northeast on Route 63. Follow the road for about a half-mile until you reach the entrance to Whittemore Glen State Park Scenic Reserve. The park entrance is marked and easy to spot.

  • Biking

    For those who prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the local bike rental shops in Waterbury. Head south towards Naugatuck via Route 63. The ride is approximately 3 miles and will take you about 15-20 minutes. Follow Route 63 directly to the park entrance.
