    From the Punanga Nui Market in Avarua, walk west along the main road (Ara Tapu) towards Avatiu Harbour. The harbor is approximately a 5-minute walk. Raro Reef Sub is located within Avatiu Harbour.

  • Public Transport

    Take the Clockwise bus from Avarua towards Avatiu Harbour. The bus departs from Cook's Corner in Avarua every hour from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm, Monday to Saturday. Get off the bus near Avatiu Harbour and walk towards the harbor entrance. Bus fare: NZ$3-13.

  • Taxi

    From anywhere in Avarua, a taxi to Avatiu Harbour is a convenient option. Taxis are readily available but it's best to pre-book. A short taxi ride within Avarua will cost approximately NZ$10-15.

Departing from Avatiu Harbour, adjacent to Avarua, this semi-submersible tour cruises along Rarotonga's northern coast. Descend below deck to witness vibrant coral reefs, diverse marine life, and the remains of the RMS Maitai, a shipwreck from 1916. The vessel's design allows for panoramic views through large glass windows, ensuring a front-row seat to the underwater spectacle. Commonly seen marine creatures include giant trevally, tropical fish, turtles, stingrays, and eels. Whale sightings are also possible during whale season (August to November).
