The shop prides itself on offering unique chocolate pairings, including chocolate and rum, chocolate and wine, and chocolate and craft beer. For those seeking a non-alcoholic treat, Choco also serves homemade hot chocolate and 100% local coffee.Puerto Viejo has a long history of cacao cultivation, with indigenous communities like the Bribri people revering cacao as a sacred plant. The shop is owned by two Canadians who settled in Puerto Viejo and were inspired by the local cacao culture.
