Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, make your way to Puerto Jiménez. From the town center, head south on Route 245. The road will take you through beautiful landscapes and small communities. Continue on Route 245 for approximately 10 kilometers until you reach the signs for Playa Platanares. Turn left onto the dirt road that leads directly to the beach. There is limited parking available near the beach entrance, so arrive early if possible.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, begin your journey at the Puerto Jiménez bus terminal. Look for buses heading towards Playa Platanares; these may not run frequently, so check the schedule in advance. The bus will take you along Route 245. Inform the driver of your destination, and they will drop you off at a point close to the beach. From there, it is a short walk to reach Playa Platanares. Public buses typically charge around $1-$2 per person, but it's advisable to have cash handy.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a more direct route, consider taking a taxi from Puerto Jiménez. Taxis are widely available in the town, and you can either flag one down or call for a ride. The fare to Playa Platanares should be negotiated beforehand, but expect to pay around $10-$15 for the ride, depending on your starting point within Puerto Jiménez.
