Driving
From Highway 34, take the turn towards the ocean for Lagunillas. Look for a liquor store and market called Super y Licorera El Sol Naciente. Follow the road towards the beach; it will be paved until Escuela Cuarros de Tarcoles. At the school, the road turns to dirt but is generally in good condition. Keep left at the intersection closer to the beach. The entrance road to Playa Guacalillo will be on the right, up a somewhat steep hill. During the rainy season, a 4x4 vehicle may be necessary. Parking is available at the top of the cliff. There is no fee to enter.

From Jacó, take a bus heading towards Punta Leona or Herradura. Inform the driver that you want to get off at the stop for Guacalillo Cliff. The bus ride takes approximately 15-20 minutes. From the bus stop, follow directions provided by locals or look for signs leading to the observation deck. Bus fare is approximately $1-$3.
