    From Upala, take the road towards Bijagua. Turn left in Upala towards Bijagua, and then follow the road for about 30 miles to the park entrance. Once you are in the community of Bijagua, turn and go 9 kilometers east in front of the sawmill. The road to the park is paved but can be curvy and narrow. A 4x4 vehicle is recommended, especially during the rainy season. Parking near the entrance costs around ₡3000-₡4000.

    Take a bus from San José to Bijagua. From Bijagua, take a taxi to the park entrance. A taxi from Bijagua to the entrance can cost around $40 USD. The bus journey from San José to Bijagua takes approximately 4 hours and costs $40-$60.
