Getting There

Walking
If you are in the center of Puerto Viejo, start by heading south on Avenida 71 towards Playa Negra. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Calle 232. Turn left onto Calle 232 and follow the road for about 1.5 km. You will pass several local shops and restaurants. Continue straight, and eventually, the road will lead you to Punta Uva. The beach will be on your right, and you will see signs indicating the area.

Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Puerto Viejo. Start your journey by biking south along Avenida 71. Follow the same route as if you were walking, turning left on Calle 232. The bike ride is about 5 km and should take approximately 15-20 minutes. Enjoy the scenic views as you pass through the lush landscape, and keep an eye out for local wildlife. Punta Uva beach will be a beautiful reward at the end of your ride.

Bus
From the center of Puerto Viejo, walk to the bus stop located near the main road. Look for the buses heading towards Manzanillo or Punta Uva. The bus ride will take about 15-20 minutes. Once you get off the bus at Punta Uva, it’s a short walk to the beach. Just follow the signs or ask locals for directions if needed.
