Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from Liberia, head east on Route 1 (Interamericana). Continue for about 25 kilometers until you reach the junction with Route 4. Turn left onto Route 4. After about 10 kilometers, look for signs for Rincon de la Vieja National Park. Follow these signs and enter the park. From the park entrance, drive until you reach the La Leona Waterfall Expedition's parking area, which is located approximately 1 kilometer east of Soda Ranchito. The GPS coordinates are approximately 10.7167° N, 85.4136° W. Please note that there may be a small entrance fee for the park.

• Public Transportation

  To reach La Leona Waterfall Expedition using public transportation, take a bus from Liberia to the town of Curubandé. Buses leave frequently from the Liberia bus terminal. Upon arriving in Curubandé, you may need to take a taxi to the entrance of Rincon de la Vieja National Park. Once you are at the park entrance, proceed by foot or hire a local guide to take you to the La Leona Waterfall, which is about a 1-2 hour hike depending on your pace. Ensure to confirm the return bus schedule to Liberia in advance.

• Taxi or Ride-Sharing

  If you prefer not to drive or use public transportation, you can hire a taxi or use a ride-sharing service from Liberia directly to the La Leona Waterfall Expedition. Agree on a fare before starting your journey, as fares can vary. The journey should take approximately 30-45 minutes, depending on traffic. Make sure to arrange for a return trip, as taxis may not be readily available in the area.
