Getting There

Public Bus
From downtown San José, head to the nearest bus terminal, which is the Terminal de Buses de San Carlos. Look for a bus heading towards 'El Carmen' or 'Biblioteca Nacional'. The fare is typically around 300-500 CRC. Once on the bus, ask the driver to let you know when you reach Avenida 3, Calle 15. Get off when you see the Biblioteca Nacional, which is a large building with a distinctive architecture. MADC (Museo de Arte y Diseño Contemporáneo) is located just adjacent to the west side of the Biblioteca Nacional. It should be a short walk from the bus stop.

If you are already near the Biblioteca Nacional, simply walk towards it. MADC is located on Avenida 3, Calle 15, right next to the Biblioteca Nacional. As you approach the library, you will see the entrance to MADC on the west side. The museum is easily identifiable by its modern architecture and often has signs directing visitors.

If you prefer a more direct route and are near a known location in San José, such as Plaza de la Cultura or Parque Nacional, you can take a taxi or a rideshare service like Uber. Simply tell the driver to take you to 'MADC' or 'Museo de Arte y Diseño Contemporáneo', located at Avenida 3, Calle 15, west of the Biblioteca Nacional. The journey should not take more than 10-15 minutes depending on traffic.
