Getting There

Driving

From La Fortuna, take Route 142 west towards Arenal Volcano. El Choyin is located approximately 12 km (7 miles) outside of town, on the side of the road. Look for a dirt trail on the left-hand side of the road, just past the entrance to Tabacon Resort. There is no official parking lot, but you can park on the side of the road. Be sure to lock your car and not leave any valuables inside. Parking is free. A taxi from La Fortuna to El Choyin will cost approximately 4169.7 CRC.

El Choyin is located approximately 12 km (7 miles) outside of La Fortuna. Walking from town is not recommended due to the distance and lack of sidewalks along the road. Consider taking a taxi or local bus.
