Love Path: A Romantic Trail in Crikvenica

The Love Path, or Ljubavna Cestica, is considered one of the most attractive walking paths in the Crikvenica area. Created in the early 1930s, it quickly gained popularity among couples, hence its romantic name. The path extends for 8 kilometers, offering a harmonious blend of natural beauty and cultural-historical heritage. A walk along the Love Path reveals interesting cultural and historical sites, including the Late Antiquity Badanj Fort, located 60 meters above sea level. The path also passes 'Pod Veli Kamik,' a former freshwater spring and Crikvenica's first water supply, built in 1890. The viewpoint between Badanj Fort and Kavranova Stena rock offers views of Tribalj village and the Tribalj Reservoir. The rock of Kavranova Stena rises steeply above a pond, reaching 290 meters. Badanj Fort, near Crikvenica, is the oldest surviving medieval fortification in the Vinodol region. Built in the Early Byzantine period (4th-6th centuries AD), the fort features an irregular circular shape with a central tower and a water reservoir. Ruins of the 12th-century Church of the Holy Spirit are at the fort's base. Today, the Love Path provides an opportunity to awaken your senses, whether enjoying the scenery with a loved one, listening to the wind, or taking in the scents of Mediterranean herbs.
