From the center of Makarska, head towards the main road, Obala kralja Tomislava. Walk along the waterfront promenade until you reach the intersection with D8. Cross over to the other side of the road and continue uphill on the road towards Podgora. Follow the signs that point towards Sveti Ilija. The trail to Sveti Ilija starts at the end of the village of Podgora. The hike is steep, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water. The journey will take about 1.5 to 2 hours.
