Getting There

• Bus

  To reach Svilaja from Split, start by walking to the main bus station in Split, which is located near the ferry terminal. Once at the bus station, look for the buses heading towards Omiš or the surrounding areas. The bus you want is the one that connects to a route going towards Otišić. Purchase your ticket from the kiosk or the driver. The journey will take approximately 40-50 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you arrive at the Otišić stop, get off and head towards the peak of Svilaja, which is well-marked. Follow the signs leading up the mountain; it’s a hiking trail, so be prepared for a bit of a walk.

• Taxi or Rideshare

  If you prefer a more direct route to Svilaja, you can use a taxi or rideshare service like Uber. Simply request a ride to 'Svilaja, Otišić' or 'Otišić' through the app. The drivers are usually familiar with the area and can take you directly to the starting point of the hiking trail. The journey will take around 30-40 minutes depending on traffic. Make sure to agree on the fare before starting the journey, or ensure the app is calculating the price correctly.

• Bicycle

  If you're feeling adventurous and want to explore the area on two wheels, you can rent a bicycle in Split. Once you have your bike, head towards the Riva promenade and follow the waterfront until you reach the road leading out of the city. Follow the signs towards Omiš and then take a turn towards Otišić. The ride is uphill, so be prepared for a workout. It might take you about 1-1.5 hours to reach the base of Svilaja, depending on your cycling pace.
