Getting There

Walking
Start at the main square in Hvar, known as Trg Sv. Stjepana. From there, head northeast towards the Church of St. Stephen. After passing the church, continue along the same road, which becomes Ulica Biskupa Jurja Dubokovica. Follow this road uphill for about 15-20 minutes. You will see signs for Fortica Fortress directing you along the path. The path is well-marked and will take you to the entrance of the fortress.

If you're near the waterfront, start from the Riva (the promenade). Walk towards the north end of the promenade, where you will find Ulica Biskupa Jurja Dubokovica. Turn left and start walking uphill. Keep walking straight for approximately 20-25 minutes, following the signs for Fortica. The path will lead you directly to the fortress, offering beautiful views along the way.

From the Hvar Town Bus Station, walk towards the old town area. Once you reach Trg Sv. Stjepana, follow the directions provided earlier. Alternatively, you can take a more direct route by walking towards the north side of the town, continuing straight up Ulica Biskupa Jurja Dubokovica for about 20 minutes. The fortress is located at the top of the hill and is easily accessible.
