Walking
From the town center of Hvar, head towards the main square (Trg Sv. Stjepana). Once you reach the square, take the path leading towards the fortress (Fortica) which sits on a hill. Follow the road up the hill, passing by the fortress entrance. Continue walking along the trail, which will lead you through the scenic area. After about 40 minutes of walking, you will start to see the signs for Sveti Ilija. Keep following the trail until you reach the peak, which is well-marked and offers stunning views of the surrounding area.
Biking
If you prefer biking, you can rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Hvar. Start from the main square and head towards the coastal road (D116). Follow this road as it curves around the coastline and then begins to ascend. Look for signs that indicate the direction to Sveti Ilija. The biking route will take about 30-40 minutes, depending on your pace. Make sure to wear a helmet and stay on the designated bike paths when available.

For a guided experience, consider joining a hiking tour that departs from Hvar town. Many local tour companies offer group hikes to Sveti Ilija. These tours typically start at the main square and include a guide who will lead you through the best trails, explaining the local flora and fauna along the way.
