From the center of Makarska, head to the main bus station located near the waterfront. Look for the bus that goes to Split or Klis, as these buses will pass by your destination. Purchase a ticket from the kiosk or on the bus. The journey will take about 30-40 minutes. Once the bus reaches Klis, get off at the nearest stop to Trg Mejdan. From there, it's a short walk to Klis Fortress.

Walking
If you prefer walking, start at the Makarska Riva (waterfront promenade) and head towards the main road (D8). Walk along the D8 road towards Split, and after approximately 5 kilometers, you will reach the turnoff for Klis. Follow the signs for Klis, which will lead you uphill. It’s a steep hike, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water. The fortress is located at Trg Mejdan 10, at the top of the hill.

You can also opt for a taxi or a rideshare service like Uber. Simply request a ride to Klis Fortress, Trg Mejdan 10. The drive will take around 20-30 minutes depending on traffic. Taxis can be found at designated taxi stands or you can call one from your accommodation.
