Walking
Start your journey from the main square in Makarska, Trg fra Andrije Kačića Miošića. Head towards the waterfront by walking down the main street, Obala kralja Tomislava. Continue straight until you reach the marina area where you can see boats and yachts docked. Keep walking along the waterfront promenade, enjoying the beautiful views of the sea and islands. As you walk, look for signs leading to the breakwater. Once you see the breakwater, you can walk right to the end for stunning views of the Adriatic Sea.
Biking
If you prefer biking, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops near the main square. Once you have your bike, head towards the waterfront on Obala kralja Tomislava. Continue along the promenade, which is bike-friendly, until you reach the marina area. Follow the signs to the breakwater, which is a short ride from the promenade. The ride is pleasant and offers beautiful coastal views. Park your bike at the designated areas near the breakwater.
Public Transport
While public transport options are limited for reaching the breakwater directly, you can take a local bus to nearby areas. From the main bus station in Makarska, take a bus that goes towards the beach areas. Get off at the closest stop to the beach and follow the coastal path towards the breakwater. The walk from the bus stop to the breakwater is approximately 10-15 minutes.
