Walking
From the center of Makarska, head towards the main road, Obala kralja Tomislava. Walk along the waterfront promenade until you reach the intersection with D8. Cross over to the other side of the road and continue uphill on the road towards Podgora. Follow the signs that point towards Sveti Ilija. The trail to Sveti Ilija starts at the end of the village of Podgora. The hike is steep, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water. The journey will take about 1.5 to 2 hours.

From the main bus station in Makarska, take a local bus towards Podgora. The bus ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes. Get off at the Podgora stop. Once you arrive in Podgora, follow the main road uphill until you see the signs for Sveti Ilija. The trailhead is located at the end of the village. Be prepared for a steep hike that will take about 1.5 to 2 hours to reach the peak.

If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from any location in Makarska to Podgora. Just let the driver know you want to go to Sveti Ilija.
