If you are driving, head towards the Medvednica Mountain area from Zagreb. Use your GPS to navigate to the address: 10090, Podsused - Vrapče, Zagreb. Upon reaching the foothills of Medvednica, look for signs directing you to the Veternica cave. There is a designated parking area near the cave entrance where you can leave your vehicle. Note that parking fees may apply, so be prepared with some kuna for the meter.

Public Transportation

To reach Veternica cave using public transportation, take tram line 14 from central Zagreb towards 'Sljeme'. Get off at the 'Podsljeme' stop. From there, you will need to take a taxi or a local bus (if available) to reach the entrance of Veternica cave. Alternatively, consider walking the remaining distance, which is approximately 2 kilometers uphill. Make sure to check local bus schedules ahead of time as they can vary. Be aware that the entire journey may take around 1.5 to 2 hours depending on connections.

Walking from the parking area

Once you have parked your car at the designated parking area, follow the marked trail leading to the Veternica cave entrance. The path is well-maintained but can be steep in certain sections, so wear comfortable shoes. It is approximately a 15-20 minute walk to the cave entrance from the parking area.
