Pećinski Park Grabovača, located 2.5 km from the center of Perušić, is a distinctive natural attraction and the only cave park in Europe. This protected landscape features a remarkable concentration of karst formations, with eight caves and one pit within a compact area of 1.5 square kilometers. This represents a quarter of all protected speleological sites in Croatia. The park's highlight is Samograd Cave, open to visitors with guided tours. The cave extends 345 meters, has a 30-meter high ceiling, and maintains a cool 8°C temperature year-round. Inside, hand-carved steps lead through chambers adorned with stalactites and stalagmites. The air within the cave is exceptionally clean, free of allergens and rich in ions, creating a natural salt room effect. Beyond the caves, the park boasts diverse ecosystems with endangered habitats and protected species, including orchids, brown bears and wolves. Visitors can explore educational trails like the new 4.5 km Blue Path, enjoy panoramic views from the Ploče lookout, and discover the medieval Old Town of Perušić.
