Getting there

Walking

Sveta Srca is located in Pula's old town, easily accessible on foot from most central locations. From the Roman Amphitheatre, walk northwest along Flanaticka ul., then turn left onto Sergijevaca ul. Continue onto De Villeov uspon; the museum will be on your left. The walk is approximately 5-10 minutes. No costs are involved.

Public Transport

Pula's public buses connect various parts of the city to the old town. Several bus lines stop near the Arch of the Sergii (Zlatna Vrata), a short walk from Sveta Srca. From the bus stop, walk along Sergijevaca ul. and continue onto De Villeov uspon. A single bus ticket costs 11 kn (approximately €1.50) and is valid for one hour.

Taxi

Taxis are readily available in Pula. A short taxi ride from the main bus station (Autobusni kolodvor) to Sveta Srca will cost approximately 50 HRK. Taxi Wizi charges a starting fare of €1.95, with €1.80 per kilometer. Confirm the fare with the driver before starting your journey.

Overview

The Muzejsko-galerijski prostor Sveta Srca is located in the beautifully renovated former Church of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary in Pula. The church was built in 1908 by nuns of the Sacred Hearts. After World War II, the nuns left, and the Archaeological Museum of Istria took over the space, using it as a depot from 1958.The building's renovation began in 1994, and after 17 years, it reopened in July 2011 as a museum-gallery space. The space is designed to be multifunctional and multimedia-friendly, hosting exhibitions, lectures, congresses, and concerts. The interior features added galleries connected by a bridge, and the apse has been converted into a large wall for film projections.Today, Sveta Srca hosts a variety of exhibitions showcasing the region's rich artistic heritage. It is also a venue for lectures, concerts, and other cultural events, making it a vibrant hub for art lovers and cultural enthusiasts. Accessibility is a key feature, with handicap-accessible parking and facilities.
