Getting There

  • Walking

    If you're starting from Ban Jelačić Square, head towards the southwest exit of the square towards the street called Ilica. Walk straight down Ilica for about 10 minutes until you reach the intersection with Medulićeva Street. Turn left onto Medulićeva Street and continue walking until you reach the top of the hill where you will find the Zakmardi Steps (Stube Ivana Zakmardija) on your right.

  • Public Transport (Tram)

    From Ban Jelačić Square, take tram number 13 or 17 in the direction of Srednjaci or Podsused. Ride for three stops and get off at the 'Trg bana Josipa Jelačića' stop. From there, walk back towards Ilica and follow the instructions provided for walking from Ban Jelačić Square.

  • Walking from the Upper Town (Gornji Grad)

    If you are in the Upper Town, head down the Strossmayer promenade. As you descend, look for the stairs leading down to the lower streets. Once you reach the lower area, walk towards the direction of Ilica and follow the previous instructions to get to the Zakmardi Steps.
