Museum Kurá Hulanda: A Journey Through the History of the African Slave Trade

Museum Kurá Hulanda, situated in the historic Otrobanda district of Willemstad, Curaçao, is an anthropological museum dedicated to chronicling the history of the Atlantic slave trade and its profound impact on Curaçao and the broader Caribbean. Founded by Dutch entrepreneur Jacob Gelt Dekker in April 1999, the museum is located on the site where Dutch traders once trafficked enslaved Africans.The museum complex comprises 15 buildings spread over 16,000 square feet, meticulously restored to their original condition.
