Driving
From Neo Chorio, follow the main road towards the Akamas Peninsula. Continue for approximately 2.5 km on a paved dirt track until you reach the Smigies picnic site, where the trail begins. Parking is available at the picnic site. Be aware that the road can be rough, so drive carefully. A 4x4 vehicle is not mandatory but recommended.
Walking
If you are already in Neo Chorio, you can walk to the Smigies Nature Trail. From the village center, head towards the Akamas Peninsula following the main road. The Smigies picnic site, where the trail starts, is approximately 2.5 km from Neo Chorio, a walk of around 30-45 minutes. The route is uphill and mostly on a dirt track, so wear comfortable shoes. There are no costs associated with walking to the trail.
Public Transport
While there isn't a direct bus to the Smigies Nature Trail, you can take bus route 622 from Polis to the Baths of Aphrodite, which is the closest public transport stop to the trail. From the Baths of Aphrodite, you can either walk or take a taxi to the Smigies picnic site. The walk from the Baths of Aphrodite to the Smigies picnic site is approximately 7 km and takes around 1.5-2 hours. A taxi from the Baths of Aphrodite to the Smigies picnic site will cost approximately €15-€20. A single bus fare from Polis to the Baths of Aphrodite is approximately €1.50.
