Driving
If driving from Kakopetria, head south towards Troodos on the B9 road. Platania is approximately 6km from Kakopetria, on the left-hand side of the road. Look for signs indicating the Platania Forestry Station and picnic site. Parking is available near the entrance. Be aware that parking can be limited during peak season.
Public Transport
From major cities like Limassol or Nicosia, take an Intercity bus to Kakopetria (€4-€9, depending on the distance). From Kakopetria, local buses may be available towards Troodos; inquire locally about schedules, as they can be infrequent. Alternatively, a taxi from Kakopetria to Platania will cost approximately €15-€20. Confirm the fare with the driver before starting your journey. Keep in mind that bus service to smaller villages may run only once or twice a day.
Taxi/Ride-Share
From Kakopetria, a taxi to Platania is the most convenient option if you don't have a car. The ride is short, approximately 6km, and should cost around €15-€20 during the day. Night fares (20:30-06:00) may be slightly higher. Always confirm the fare with the driver before starting your journey. Ride-sharing services may be limited in this area.
