The Πάρκο Κάκτων & Παχύφυτων, also known as the Ayia Napa Cactus Park, offers a serene escape on the eastern edge of Ayia Napa. Officially named the Ayia Napa Park of Mediterranean Plants, Cactus and Succulents, this botanical garden was established in 2015 and has quickly become a popular attraction. Located on a previously barren, rocky area, the park demonstrates the resilience and beauty of desert flora. The Ayia Napa Municipality initiated the park's creation with the goal of establishing one of the largest cactus parks in the Mediterranean. Today, the park boasts approximately 6,000 to 8,000 plants, including a diverse range of cacti, succulents, and other drought-resistant species sourced from various regions worldwide. As you explore the park, you'll discover meticulously arranged displays highlighting each plant's unique characteristics. Gravel paths wind through the landscape, inviting visitors to stroll and admire the artistry of nature. Contemporary sculptures are interspersed among the cacti, adding artistic intrigue to the botanical setting. Informational plaques provide insights into the origins, adaptations, and care of various plant species. The Cactus Park is next to the Sculpture Park, which features sculptures on themes from ancient Greek myths. Together, the parks create a unique cultural landscape.
