Getting There

  • Driving

    From Nicosia, take the A1 highway towards Limassol, then follow signs for the Troodos Mountains. The drive takes approximately 1.5 hours. Once in the Troodos area, follow the F935 road directly to Mount Olympos. Parking is available near the Sun Valley cafe and the military checkpoint. Be aware that the road to the summit can be steep with a maximum gradient of 12%. During winter, ensure your vehicle is equipped for snowy conditions.

  • Public Transport

    From Nicosia, take the bus to Makario Stadium Bus Station, then transfer to the 408 bus towards Troodos. Get off at the Troodos Camping Site 1. From Troodos Square, local bus services may run towards the Olympos area; check local schedules for timings. Alternatively, taxis are available from Troodos Square to Mount Olympos. Bus fare from Nicosia to Troodos is approximately €5-€7.

  • Walking

    If you are in Troodos village, begin at Troodos Square and follow the signposts towards Mount Olympos. The well-marked path leads uphill through pine forests. The hike to a viewpoint of Mount Olympos takes about 30-45 minutes. The total hike from Troodos Square to Mount Olympos is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.
