Public Transport
To reach Makheras Forest using public transport, start at Nicosia's Intercity Bus Station. Look for buses heading towards Larnaca or Limassol and take the bus that stops at the village of Lazanias. The bus ride takes approximately 30-40 minutes. From Lazanias, follow the road signs to the National Forest Park of Machairas, a scenic 30-minute walk to the park entrance. Bus fare is approximately €2-€4.
Car
If driving from Nicosia, head towards the A1 highway and follow signs for Limassol. Take the exit towards Machairas Monastery (signed as 'Makheras'). Continue on the road until you reach the Machairas Monastery. From there, you can park your vehicle at the monastery's parking area, which is generally free. The final stretch to Makheras Forest may require a short hike. Alternatively, from Paphos Forest, take the E601 road heading north towards Lazanias. Continue for approximately 20 km and look for signs for the National Forest Park of Machairas. There is no entry fee for the park.
